TWO YEARS IN POWER
With this project, My aim was to convey how having electricity was a lifeline for many people during the Covid-19 Pandemic, where multiple lockdowns were introduced to stop the spread of the virus and prevented those most at risk from going outside or interacting with loved ones - myself included - for two years. Through the depiction of fences and barbed wire representing a literal "barrier", and pylon lines and other elements behind them symbolising the metaphorical "power" electricity had to keep people's moral up during this time, I've tried to focus on scenes that are visually interesting and went to a local substation for inspiration. Black and white tones were also used to draw attention to the leading lines that would be present in each image and highlight the bleak and depressing outlook many people at high risk had throughout the pandemic.
